Animal feed can be fed to animals in two main forms, as a mash or as compressed pellets. Various studies and research have shown that feeding in pellet form has several advantages.
Good quality pellets have significant benefits over lower grade pellets or marsh. Waste is reduced, lower segregation in the feed, improved palatability and shorter eating periods are all results of using feed pellets. Feeding efficiency of animals and feed conversion is also improved.
However, it is not always easy to make good quality pellets. That is why pellet binders are often used. Pellet binders are nutritionally inert and non-toxic resins that aid in the binding and compression of pellets. They not only keep pellets intact but also reduce the creation of fines during production and usage.
