Prebiotics

Since the almost global ban on antibiotics in animal feed, there has been a necessity to find alternatives to ensure good animal health. Keeping the digestive tract of an animal functioning well and resistant to infections and diseases is one way of ensuring good health and growth.

Prebiotics are carbohydrate polymers or fibers that can not be digested by an organism themselves, but are the needed nutrients for microoganisms and bacteria inside the digestive tracts that contribute to a strong immune system. Adding prebiotics to animal feed enables livestock to naturally increase their own immune systems defense.
