Paprika

Paprika powder / oleoresin is a natural, water-insoluble food coloring derived from the dried, ground pods of the Capsicum annum plant. It is readily soluble in vegetable oils.

This product is most commonly used as a spice, flavoring agent, and food coloring wherever a paprika-like taste and yellow to red color is required.

The oleoresin is standardized with vegetable oil to a color strength referred to as 40,000 and 80,000 CU, although higher units are also available.

Applications in the food industry in Thailand include cheese, chili, condiments, juices, sausages, processed meat, sauces, and spices.
