Modified Starch

Starch is a very versatile product. It is a polysaccharid that is produce by most green plants as a energy storage. Most of the staple carbohydrate food for humans are high in starch. Such as potatoes, wheat, rice, tapoica,  and maize. The name Starch is derived from the germanic names for ‘stiff, strong, strengthen’.

Chemically modifying starch into ethers or similar products, allows starch to be used in various construction products to improve anti-sagging properties. The starch give the individual gypsum, mortar, cement, or plaster products the necessary balance between easy processability, but strength and stiff to resist gravity and subsequent sagging.
